Construction work at the Hamburg Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA)

As you have already gathered from both the specialist press and HHLA’s letter of notification, the train station at the HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder will undergo extensive construction from April 2016, which will include the station’s expansion and refurbishment.
According to information from HHLA, the construction work is scheduled to span a period of up to six months.

During this construction phase, we expect considerable limitations to our rail operations in regards to the handling of trains.

The land-based KLV handling via KTH will be discontinued during this time so that no trucks can pass.
The handling of trains will only be possible for routes starting/ending at the CTA seaport terminal.
Our trains from/to Enns and Vienna will serve the CTA twice a week during the construction phase.

We offer you to compensate the limited CTA railway capacity with truck operations via other terminals.

These Port-loops will be charged according to our Sales Conditions.
